Civil Engineer/Technologist

In this role you will work closely with the Engineering Services Manager and many stakeholders throughout the organization.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Civil Engineer/Technologist continue to further grow our Engineering sector. You will work under the supervision of the engineering manager, direct drafting personnel and provide technical mentorship to junior engineering staff, and potentially lead the engineering design team. The position also includes civil design for municipal land development and transportation projects including grading, earthworks, stormwater management, flood protection and underground utility services (water distribution and wastewater management). You will assist with the preparation of project proposals, reports, preliminary and detailed design drawings, contract documents, tendering and specifications. The role also includes volume analysis, quantity take-offs and project estimates. You will provide field support as needed for construction projects and provide technical input and conduct design reviews on projects. You will complete regulatory applications when required and communicate with all applicable regulatory agencies and liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, municipalities, and contractors. Various project management responsibilities including budgeting and cost estimating; for municipalities, private developers, and First Nations clients will also be part of the position. Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
• Seeking a Civil Engineer with min. 8 yrs experience or Sr. Technologist w/ a min. of 10 yrs experience
• Professional registration in Alberta (or eligible to be registered). Registration in other provinces and territories an asset but not required
• Consulting engineering experience working in a multi-discipline engineering environment
• Stormwater Design: experience in stormwater/flood modelling with XPSWMM, Mike Urban, or other storm water modelling software is an asset
• Experience in design, analysis and sizing of sanitary collection and water distribution systems
• Strong knowledge of Civil3D and AutoCAD
• Field construction experience monitoring municipal projects; ability to identify and provide solutions for field challenges
• Project experience in both Alberta and BC an asset
• Must be able to work independently and with teams on multiple projects
• Display strong communication and problem-solving skills
• May be required to travel in Alberta and BC as required by project locations
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Valid, applicable safety courses are required and will be provided if necessary
• Compliance with Global Raymac’s Drug and Alcohol policy is required (screening is mandatory)

The compensation package for this position will be commensurate with the level of responsibility of the position as well as the candidate’s qualifications.
